City summary

Tokyo, the world’s most populous megacity with an estimated 38 million people, was named as the second best city for women after London. The Japanese capital was ranked as the safest of all the cities when respondents were asked if women faced the risk of sexual harassment or violence. Tokyo was seen as having the third best access for women to healthcare including control of reproductive health and maternal mortality.
